For churches
Isn't Awana a Baptist program?
Awana Clubs International is a nondenominational organization. We serve churches of many denominations. Talk with your missionary about our statement of faith and how it affects your ministry.
How big do we have to be to have Awana?
Churches small and large have effective Awana clubs throughout the United States and the world. Some churches that are rather small use their Awana club as a way to reach out to families in their community. Your missionary can help you begin a club that fits the size and directives of your church.
Does Awana have resources in other languages?
Awana has resources for clubbers in several languages.
How much will Awana cost?
Your Awana missionary can walk you through set-up costs for your club and effective ways to stretch your resources and pay for them.
For parents
What resources are available for parents?
Awana has several great resources for parents. Awana® at Home™ is our new program for parents that gives them tools to raise their children on a Godly foundation. Awana.org has an area with books, training materials and ideas for parents. You can even use the online store to buy tools to help your clubber learn even more from Awana.
For clubbers
Is Awana just for little kids?
Awana has clubs for pre, elementary, middle, and high schoolers. From basic truths and cute characters in Puggles and Cubbies to interesting and challenging resources for teens, Awana's resources communicate God's word so you get it.
What's with the uniform?
Awana clubs are encouraged to have clubbers wear uniforms. These rules and the uniforms become less restrictive as clubbers grow. For younger clubbers, uniforms give you a place to display your awards. The uniform is a way to identify with other Awana clubbers.
How do I pass all of these sections?
The handbook can look pretty scary at the start. It may seem unfair to ask clubbers to learn all of this stuff and pass all of these sections. When you start at the beginning and work through your book it does get a little more difficult.
The name 'Awana' comes from a verse in the Bible, II Timothy 2:15. This verse challenges believers to "study" so that we can be the kind of people God wants us to be. Approved workmen are not ashamed was the inspiration behind the creation of the word.. It does take extra work to pass those sections, but it is worth the payoff.
